Here's the simplest way to post a review on Amazon:

  1. Go the product page for each book (see links below)
  2. Scroll down until you see the “Customer Reviews” heading
  3. Click on the box to the right where it says “Write a Customer Review” You’ll then see 5 blank stars. Hover over the stars and make a selection, (hopefully it will be either be 4 or 5 stars!)
  4. A box will then pop up for you to write your review in. You’ll also have the chance to give your review a title. Your review doesn’t need to be long, however, Amazon does give more weight to longer reviews.
  5. Copy your review and paste it into a word document before you post it, just in case something goes wrong. It’s never fun having to rewrite it!
  6. Post the review
  7. Keep an eye out for an email from Amazon telling you your review is live. If you don’t receive this email within a few hours, it probably means something went wrong, and you might need do it again (hence the reason for copying it!)

Here's how to post a review on GoodReads:

  1. Go to www.GoodReads.com
  2. Navigate to my author page
  3. Chose the book you want to review
  4. Underneath the book’s profile picture on the top left, rate the book using the stars.
  5. The “want to read” button will automatically be replaced with a “write a review” link. Click that link.
  6. Write your review in the review box that will appear and save.

Note that you have to be a Goodreads member to write a review. It’s easy to set up, and there’s no cost. You don’t read books on Goodreads – it’s just a great place to keep track of books you’ve either read or want to read, and see what what books others are reading.
